CEO + Founder

James Lee Burgess is an RIBA Architect with over 20 years’ experience. His passion for collaboration, sustainability and technology led him to establish XLwerks in April of 2019 as a response to the quickly changing landscape of design and tech and its potential for revolutionising the way that urban design and architecture is communicated and delivered.

He has worked across many sectors during a career which has covered both London and Norfolk in equal measure. In London he worked on several large scale, high density residential schemes with clients such as Genesis, Wandle, The Peabody Trust, and London and Quadrant. His Norfolk career has spanned Education, Care, Master-planning and Urban Design. He was project architect for the Rackheath Eco-Town Masterplan and has helped develop several Passivhaus schemes with Norwich City Council. He also worked with Norfolk County Council on residential and master planning schemes, as well as Broadland District Council, Hereford Town Council,  Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Waltham Forest Council.

James Lee is a full member of the Association of Project Managers and Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor Ambassador.
